December 6 is celebrated in Poland as St. Nicoia day, and marks the start of the Christmas celebrations. The children are left a single present to open to celebrate St. Nic's birthday. The 4th century bishop that is credited with the legend of "Santa Clause", St Nicolia of Bari was know for his extreme generosity and this reputation help give rise to the legend. So lets all welcome the Christmas season. Happy St. Nicolia day everyone.
