Wet weather slows start of construction

project map

Greetings. Thank you for subscribing to our Hwy 57 construction project updates. We plan to send weekly updates to help you anticipate what's planned to help you travel through town and also assist any visitors or customers who are coming to Mantorville.

You will note a phrase we often use "weather permitting." That notes how weather can dictate progress and is something we don't control.

Crews have been limited because of the weather, but it's possible work will be taking place during the latter part of the week with crews milling up pavement and stockpiling it. So stay alert to the signs, equipment and crew members to ensure this is a safe project.

It's uncertain, but watch for crews who may be able to replace one water main crossing at 7th or 9th toward the end of the week but that is yet to be determined.

Weekly meetings

Our contractor, Elcor Construction will be meeting in-person weekly with community members.

Elcor will be at the County Seat Coffee House, 1 5th St W, Mantorville, MN 55955, at 2 p.m. each Wednesday, beginning April 24.

You are invited to come and ask questions about the project.

Rain Delays Grinding

The rain yesterday has moved the Grinding activity to today. I spoke with the construction team today and I was told that the plan was to get the grinding work in today. Expect large vibrations when the "pavement breaker" in on the section of road next to your business.

On-line maps have been updated showing the road closure in Mantorville. We are continuing our efforts to get the message out that Mantorville is open for business.
