Monday Morning Update

The plan is still to do grinding on Tuesday even though the road closed signed did go up a day early. The alley next to Fire hall as well as Clay street for parallel roads will be open to local traffic.

The Camp Ground has no through traffic signs posted, please respect those signs and use the alley.

Friday Sumary

In the community meeting held with Elcor and MNDOT on Friday those attending were told that the bridge would be open to local traffic and that beginning Tuesday Elcor would be grinding the road surface down to gravel. Tuesday, Elcor said, would be one of the few days during the project that at least one way traffic would not be available.

During the construction there might be flag men directing traffic;however, the plan is to allow local traffic during the road reconstruction.

While any given intersection is being worked on, the other intersections within the scope of the project will be open to cross traffic.

When 4th Street is being worked on Elcor has a plan to place a temp road using Riverside park so traffic can get to 4th Street West.

Ninth street will be closed for one day during the project while underground utilities are being worked on, local routes around that intersection will remain open.

I suggested the possibility of getting a person from MNDOT to be on-site (or in a restaurant) at least one day a week to serve as a contact person for business owners to touch base with questions and concerns. Elcor said they would get back to me on that item.

Re: The City of Mantorville will maintain Business access though out construction

The City of Mantorville is proud to announce the investment in our future with safety improvements, parking opportunities and general improvement of traffic flow. The City is working with the Minnesota Department of Transportation on a full reconstruct of Highway 57 which will serve the citizens of mantorville for decades to come.

The current Highway 57 construction project which will improve traffic flow and safety within the City of Mantorville will facilitate business access though out the construction process. We have been assured that the bridge will only be closed to local traffic for just a few days though out the construction and that our business community will be able to remain open. Further there is no expected impact to school bussing for the remainder of the school year.
