Work between 6th and 9th Street ongoingConstruction crews are making progress in the past week. Crews hope to finish work on the water main on 9th Street today and get the storm sewer work done next. Watch for crews. They'll be hustling to get the intersection open by the weekend. It will be gravel, so please slow down. While the intersection at 9th Street is closed on the north side of town, please use 10th Street and Blanch Court to reach your residence or local businesses. If you are traveling through Mantorville, please use the detour to the west. A crew was also expected to be milling off the pavement in the middle of the road today (Wednesday), which will help the construction crews move to the next tasks. On Monday, they'll be at the intersection with 5th Street next to the Hubbell House, Chocolate Shoppe, Mantorville Saloon and County Seat Coffeehouse. Watch for signs and barricades. Do not move barricades that are in the road. You can be prosecuted for moving the barricades because you put many people's safety at risk. Please find an alternate route when a road is blocked.
